Sushant Singh Rajput Drug Case: Siddharth Pithani’s Bail Plea Rejected Again; Court Didn't Find Any Merit In Plea
A special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) court, on Wednesday, rejected the bail application of Siddharth Pithani, flatmate of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was arrested in May in an alleged drugs case. Pithani's lawyer Taraq Sayyed confirmed the same to Etimes. According to the Zonal Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Sameer Wankhede, the court dismissed the application because they didn't find any merit in the plea.

Pithani had filed for bail last month and stated that there was no evidence against him to show that he was involved in any drug-related offense. He had also claimed that while NCB had relied on statements of Rajput’s house manager and cook – arrested last year – both of them had retracted from their statements. Pithani had also mentioned that all the other accused in the case from whom there were no recoveries were granted bail and he should be considered for release on the grounds of parity.

Siddharth Pithani’s earlier bail was also rejected. He was granted permission to be out of police custody for his wedding on June 25. Following this, Pithani had surrendered before the court on July 2, and since then has been in the custody of the NCB.

For the unversed, SSR’s friend Pithani came under NCB radar after they traced him through his social media post. He was arrested from Hyderabad on May 28 for his alleged links in the Sushant Singh Rajput drug case.

He was the first person to find the actor hanging in his bedroom on June 14 last year.
